Carriço makes official debut as UD Almería player

The Portuguese played his first minutes wearing the Rojiblancos shirt. Juan Villar is now the only player who has not played this season after pre-season injury

Daniel Carriço, one of the signings made during the summer transfer window for this season, has made his official debut as a UD Almeria player after he played his first minutes in the match played against UD Las Palmas. He took to the pitch within 78 minutes to play as a central defender.

Carriço arrive at UD Almería from Chinese football after his brilliant career at Sevilla FC. Although he started training with the squad, a muscle injury left him on the treatment table. Now, once recovered, head coach Rubi has another player to count on, although has to get back to full fitness.

Carriço has been already named in the squad list for the previous Matchday in Girona, the same as Juan Villar, who is also recovered from the injury he suffered in the pre-season. In fact, the Huelva-born forward is now the only one in the squad who has not yet made his debut in the 2021/22 season. Bear in mind that Juan Villar spent a long stint on the sidelines involved in the recovery process and also needs to spend some time training with his team-mates so as to be 100% match fit.
