Carlos Hinojo suffers a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament on his right knee

The coach of Almería Women got injured when he was conducting a virtual training session from home

The coach of Almería Women, Carlos Hinojo, suffered a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament on his right knee. Unfortunately, he got injured while he was training his players via a video-link due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis. The squad were participating in a virtual training session, just like they usually do midweek on the training ground. Hinojo was transmitting his instructions and felt a sudden, sharp pain on his knee when he was executing one of the exercises.

‘I cannot remember well if it was in a change of direction or in one of the turns, but my foot and knee were stuck in the ground; It is time to face this again as I have already experienced it twice in the past’, said Hinojo.

The entire team showed their support for Carlos. The players, the coaching staff, Management and other members of the UDA Foundation sent him their encouraging messages. A video has been shared on the team's social media. Everybody wanted to wish him a speedy recovery and send him ‘get well soon’ messages. Hinojo stated that ‘this is only a bump in the road, but I will be fine. I deeply appreciate my players, the coaching team and Management’s support.’
