UD Almería U19 'A' keeper Bruno Iribarne was handed out a Spain U19 starting spot in the start of the final phase of the European Under-19 Championship that has begun to be played in Malta.
The youngster put in brilliant performances over the 2022/23 season between the sticks of the UDA youth team, what has led him to be capped for the European competition in the first meeting. Spain U19 beat Iceland 1-2 as the Spaniards outclassed the islanders.
The Spanish youngsters could have scored many more goals, but they squandered numerous chances and conceded in additional time. Bruno Iribarne could not do anything to save Iceland U19's goal since two Spanish players deflected the shot into the bottom of the net.
Spain U19 have been drawn in Group B along with Greece U19, Norway U19 and Iceland U19. The Greeks will be locking horns with the Spanish in the second encounter of the European tournament next Friday, 7th July.
Bruno Iribarne has taken a leading role throughout the past campaign in UD Almería Under-19s 'A' outfit who were the runners-up in the Spanish Cup U19, in addition to fighting until the end for the top Group IV top spot of the Division de Honor Nacional league.
