Brazilian Kaiky becomes UD Almeria’s newest recruit

The 18-year-old centre-back has been one of the most sought-after players by big clubs in Europe

Kaiky, one of the greatest talents of international football, becomes UD Almería’s newest recruit signing until 2028. The former Santos FC footballer has been one of the most sought-after players by big European clubs.

Kaiky Fernandes Melo is 18 years old and is 1.86 metres tall. He is a very complete central defender with fancy footwork, who is a real handful in the air thanks to his height. In fact, the Brazilian releases the ball perfectly and is characterised by his long passes to his team-mates. The main qualities of this aggressive defender and excellent tackler are speed and anticipation.

The last two seasons the Santos-born has played for Brazilian side Santos FC first-team, making appearances not only in the Brazilian top-tier Série A, but also in the Brazilian Cup Copa do Brasil, as well as at an international level playing in the Copa Sudamericana and Copa Libertadores.

Kaiky is UD Almería's 6th signing this summer after the previous signings of full-backs Houboulang Mendes and Arnau Solá, midfielders Gui Guedes and Martin Svidersky, and striker Marko Milovanović; without forgetting the option-to buy clauses activated on Babić and Pozo, who last season were on loan and they have become UD Almeria players.
