Bonini returns as UD Almería travel to Ipurúa

The Italian centre-back back in the squad after 6-week lay-off as Rubi’s side face SD Eibar

Federico Bonini is the standout inclusion in UD Almería’s squad for Sunday’s clash against SD Eibar (4:15pm Spanish Time) at the Ipurúa Stadium, a fixture corresponding to Matchday 23.

The Italian centre-back has been sidelined since 6 December, when he suffered a muscle injury just before half-time in the match away to Andorra. The setback forced Bonini to miss the last five league games, but after six weeks of recovery he is now fully available again.

His return is a boost for Rubi, who continues to gradually replenish his squad after a spell plagued by absences. Even so, UD Almería are still without several key players: Chumi and Lopy remain injured, while Chirino misses out due to suspension after accumulating yellow cards.

The Andalusian side completed their final training session behind closed doors before travelling by charter flight to Bilbao, where they will stay overnight. On Matchday, the team will make the road trip to Eibar for the afternoon kick-off.
