Biggest crowd of season with almost 9,000 fans in the stands

The number of UD Almeria supporters continues to increase despite the fact that the game was played on a weekday

Almost 9,000 UD Almeria fans (8,867) gathered at the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium to cheer on the Rojiblancos against rivals CD Leganés. It has been the biggest attendance recorded of the 2021/22 season so far. The figure is rather significant since it was a working day, which prevented many fans from visiting the Mediterraneo, especially those who live and work in other towns and villages across the province of Almeria.

The fans' attendance has been increasing every day. In the first two home fixtures, with restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic, almost 4,000 supporters attended the opening game against Real Oviedo and 6,353 did so against Málaga CF. After allowing stadia to return to full capacity, the number of fans attending the games continued to grow. There were 7,074 supporters in the stands during the game versus CD Tenerife and 8,743 fans saw the Rojiblancos sharing the spoils with UD Las Palmas.

The  figure dropped slightly to 7,697 when Real Sociedad ‘B’ visited the ‘Mediterraneo’ last Thursday, but as we mentioned above, the highest presence of Rojiblancos’ supporters has been reached in the UD Almeria- CD Leganes game (8,867).
