UD Almería can confirm that Léo Baptistão underwent medical examinations on Wednesday evening immediately after the team's return from Granada. Following the assessments, the Club's medical staff have ruled out a rib fracture, with the diagnosis confirming an intercostal sprain caused by the impact to his chest sustained during the match.

The Brazilian captain was forced off in the 66th minute of the pre-season friendly at the Nuevo Los Cármenes stadium after falling awkwardly to the ground following a challenge with a Granada CF opponent. The nature of the incident initially raised concerns of a more serious injury, but subsequent radiological examinations have fortunately ruled out any fracture.

Baptistão was accompanied by the Club's Head of Medical Services, Sebastián Jiménez to Vithas Hospital on Almería, where he underwent a series of X-rays, including chest and rib examinations. The results confirmed that the injury is limited to an intercostal sprain, with no bone damage detected.

The forward is recovering well and has already begun the rehabilitation process. While the collision was an unfortunate setback, the absence of any fracture comes as very positive news for both the player and the Club.
