Back to training setting minds on taking a big step forward

The Rojiblancos can close in on the top of the table in case of beating Zaragoza (Matchday 2) on Wednesday

Almería returned to work after their Sunday’s triumph in Alcorcón. The players have been preparing for the postponed matchday-2 fixture against Real Zaragoza, which will finally be played this Wednesday, at 7:00 p.m. at Juegos Mediterraneos in Almeria. The appointment is as important as the others, but this time a success would enable the Rojiblancos to take a big step forward in the table and get closer to the top spot. Almeria’s main rivals will not play, so that Jose Gomes’ squad have the opportunity to narrow the gap to three points.

With this prime purpose, the squad have been training at the Anexo pitch. The footballers are also fully aware of the difficulty that they may encounter during the next encounter as Real Zaragoza clinched a much-needed victory following a poor run of results and therefore, the opponents will arrive in Almería highly motivated and feeling more confident.

Those in the starting XI in Alcorcón have been involved in an active recovery session, and the rest of the team-mates exercised longer and with more intensity. Juan Gutiérrez rejoined his team-mates for a short while as he nears the end of his recovery rehab, while Juan Villar continues to stay in quarantine.

This Tuesday, Almería train again behind closed doors. A warm up and pre-activation workout has been scheduled for Wednesday morning before taking a step back in time to fulfil matchday 2.
