Babić extends stay at UD Almeria until 2026

An option-to-buy clause has been activated to retain the Serbian centre-back for the next four seasons

Srđan Babić will continue wearing the Rojiblancos’ jersey until June 2026 after UD Almería have offered the central defender fresh terms by activating the option-to-buy clause. An agreement has been reached with the footballer who signs for the next four seasons.

UD Almeria are wasting no time in planning for the next season as they continue to build the squad after moving up to the top flight of Spanish football as LaLiga SmartBank champions. After the extension of the contracts of Alex Centelles and Rodrigo Ely, UD Almería have now ensured the continuity of another of the key players of the campaign that just ended.

Babić is the second player in the squad who has played the most minutes during the championship, behind goalkeeper Fernando. The 26-year-old Serbian central defender has played 37 league games, scoring one goal, and all three in the Copa del Rey.

Srđan Babić moved to UD Almería on loan from Red Star Belgrade at the end of last August, with the competition just started, under an option-to-buy clause that has now been activated.
