Iddrisu Baba named in UD Almería squad list after 9-month injury lay-off
The Ghanaian midfielder is set to make long-awaited return following successful recovery
UD Almería midfielder Iddrisu Baba has been named in the squad liste for Matchday 3, marking his first appearance in 9 months since suffering a significant knee injury. The 26-year-old Ghanaian midfielder, who tore his muscle in November 2024, has overcome a challenging recovery process to rejoin the team.
Baba’s last appearance for the Club came during a postponed match against Córdoba CF on 26 November, 2024, when he suffered a grade 2 sprain of the internal lateral ligament in his left knee. Further medical tests revealed a partial tear of the anterior cruciate ligament, leading to surgery in early January.
After months of intensive rehabilitation, Baba has now been included in the squad list for UD Almería’s upcoming game against Real Sociedad ‘B.’
Head coach Rubi expressed optimism about Baba’s return, noting that the midfielder had been training with the group during pre-season and was approaching full fitness. His inclusion has been widely anticipated, with many seeing it as a major boost to the team for the new season.
