Baba suffers partial ACL tear in his left knee
The UD Almería midfielder will have to undergo surgery, but first he will have to recover from the sprain he has in his inner lateral ligament. The player was with his team-mates in León
UD Almería midfielder Iddrisu Baba also suffered a partial anterior cruciate ligament tear in his left knee, as diagnosed after undergoing different medical tests, so for the footballer the season has already ended.
The Ghanaian international had a grade 2 sprain to the inner lateral ligament of his left knee, but the head of Club's medical services Sebastián Jiménez opted to subject him to other tests after verifying the instability he had in the joint. 'The suspicions we had are a reality and after consulting with several team-mates we have agreed that Baba will have to undergo surgery,' the doctor explained to the Club's official radio. They will have to wait four or five weeks to perform this surgery since, as Mr Jiménez clarified, 'he must first recover from the sprain of the inner lateral ligament.'
Baba travelled with his team-mates to León for the Spanish Cup second-round tie, since he went there from Madrid, where he was undergoing a medical check-up. The player saw the Cup tie against Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa.
This Thursday, the injured midfielder has returned with the UD Almería travelling squad by charter flight.
