Baba undergoes successful surgery but season is over for him

UD Almería midfielder Iddrisu Baba has undergone successful surgery for the partial tear he suffered in the inner lateral ligament of his left knee, an injury he suffered on 26 November in the postponed match against Córdoba CF, but he could not be operated on until he recovered from another issue in the same joint. Despite the successful surgery, the footballer has no choice but to say goodbye to the season when his serious injury was confirmed.
The operation was performed by Dr Claudio Vázquez, also the Spanish team doctor, at the Vithas Virgen del Mar Hospital in Almería. The operation lasted almost a couple of hours and the player will soon be discharged from the hospital and then go home.
Let us remember that Baba had to be substituted in the match against Córdoba, at the end of November, in the 50th minute. At first a grade 2 sprain was detected in the internal lateral ligament of the left knee, but the head of The club's medical services, Salvador Jiménez, chose to continue doing new tests that diagnosed, on December 5, that he also had a partial tear of the anterior cruciate ligament. He had to undergo surgery, but first he had to recover from the sprain. This Friday, January 3, he was intervened.
