B team players Marcos Peña and Rachad named in UD Almería's squad list for Cup tie
Melero and Embarba, due to injury, and César Montes, due to suspension, will not travel to Barbastro, where the the Rojiblancos are playing the Spanish Cup second-round tie at midday this Wednesday
UD Almería 'B' midfielder Marcos Peña is the highlight of UD Almería's squad list for the Copa del Rey second-round tie against UD Barbastro at the Municipal Sports Pitch located in the Huesca-based town. In addition, 'B' team striker Rachad has been called up to senior team duty again after debuting in last Sunday's fixture against Real Betis in the top tier of Spanish football. Marciano, who is training regularly with the first team, has also been named in the team roster.
On the contrary, Melero, who suffers a contracture, has been ruled out of the Spanish Cup as well as Embarba, due to a sprain ankle, and César Montes, due to suspension since he was sent off after being awarded the second yellow card in the previous tie played in Talevera de la Reina. Long-term injured Luis Suárez, Koné, Marc Pubill, Marezi and Šviderský will also miss out on the involvement in the match.
UD Almería completed the last training session this Tuesday morning at the Power Horse Stadium to prepare for this Wednesday's match against UD Barbastro. Later, the UD Almería travelling squad headed to Huesca city on a charter flight.
Gaizka Garitano has focus his session on tactics and game strategy in order not to see his team defeated by UD Barbastro, who eliminated SD Ponferradina in the first round. UD Almería do not take their Cup Group II Segunda RFEF adversaries for granted. It will be a demanding game considering their high motivation, tactics and home-pith advantage.
