Arribas edges closer to 'pichichi' honour

The UD Almería attacker tops the Segunda scoring charts with 5 matches remaining. He has netted 24 goals this season

Sergio Arribas is enjoying an outstanding season and continues to lead the LaLiga Hypermotion scoring charts. The UD Almería attacker has now reached 24 goals, strengthening his position at the top with just 5 matches left to play.

His latest performance came at the Nuevo Los Cármenes stadium, where he scored the first hat-trick of his professional footballing career. It was also the third time this season that Arribas has found the net at least twice in a single match, highlighting both his consistency and attacking impact.

Despite not operating as a traditional centre-forward, the 24-year-old has proven decisive in the final third. Often involved in the build-up phase, he combines creativity with a strong goal-scoring instinct, making him one of the standout players in the competition.

The 3 goals against Granada CF also brought him to a total of 32 in Segunda  with UD Almería, equalling Leo Ulloa’s tally in the division, having already scored 8 last season. The Club’s all-time leading scorer in the division remains Sadiq Umar with 38 goals.

With 5 Matchdays to go, the Madrid-born holds a 4-goal advantage over his closest challenger, Andrés Martín from Racing de Santander (5 according to LaLiga’s official records). UD Almería have previously had four Pichichi winners in Segunda and Arribas is now well placed to become the 5th.

The final stretch of the campaign will be decisive as the Rojiblanco attacker looks to cap off a remarkable season with individual recognition.
