Áron Yaakobishvili becomes UD Almería’s 7th summer signing following an agreement between the goalkeeper, the Andalusian Club and FC Barcelona. The 20-year-old goalkeeper joins on loan until the end of the current campaign, with UD Almería retaining an option to sign him permanently.
The goalkeeper has a bright future ahead of him thanks to his outstanding qualities, but he has already proven himself at professional level. Last season, he impressed in LaLiga Hypermotion during a loan spell with FC Andorra, making 21 appearances in professional football.
Born in Budapest on 6 March 2006, Áron Yaakobishvili joined FC Barcelona’s Youth Academy in 2018. At La Masia, he developed through the various age groups before progressing to Barça Atlètic and the first team, before subsequently going out on loan. He has won the UEFA Youth League and represented Hungary at every youth international level. He has also made his senior international debut.
Yaakobishvili is UD Almería’s 7th signing of the summer, following the arrivals of centre-backs Jorge Pulido and Andrej Popović; midfielders Mikel Vesga and Quim Junyent; and wingers Álex Sola and Brian Cipenga.
The Hungarian goalkeeper is now working under the guidance of head coach Xavier García Pimienta. After signing his contract with UD Almería, he took part in his first training session with the Indálicos squad on Thursday, with the practice held at the UD Almería Stadium.
