Arnau Puigmal: ‘We’re a family and that’s reflected on the pitch’
The new midfielder highlights the good atmosphere and the group that the players have formed, something that he considers key
‘We’re a family in the dressing room and that’s reflected on the pitch,’ stated Arnau Puigmal, one of the new faces in UD Almería this 2021/22 season. He told the Club’s official media about ‘the good atmosphere that exists and the good UD Almeria group that we’ve formed is something key and essential because it’s not easy to achieve it in football.’
The 20-year-old midfielder, who has arrived from Manchester United, stresses that he has complete confidence in the team’ and although he acknowledges ‘things are going very well for us at the start of the season,’ he also points out ‘This is a very long and complicated competition, and when we win five games in a row, we won’t be the best, nor when we lose will we be the worst. We just have to stick together and work hard as we’re doing.’
Arnau Puigmal has played a few minutes in the first games off the bench. On a personal level, he commented ‘I’m happy and I appreciate the confidence that both the Club and the coach have given me.’ On this same subject, he added ‘I consider myself a box-to-box midfielder, as they say, and it’s true that I like having the ball, but also when I have to work I pull my socks up. Nobody is saved here.’ He trusts in contributing things to the squad, little by little.
After several years competing in England, he does not hesitate to state ‘it’s been a joy to return to Spain.’ He was friends with Ramazani in Manchester, about whom he said ‘I played with him for four years and we’re great friends. When we met again in Almeria, we talked about it and we know that it’s such a coincidence given that there are so many teams in the world and we’ve ended up together here. Yes, we’re even better friends now.’
The match against SD Amorebieta is on the horizon: ‘A different game awaits us due to their style of play, but we’ll face it like any other clash. We also have to know how to play these games and we’ll go into it with a very positive attitude and with great confidence.’
