Explosiveness the focus as UD Almería ramp up pre-season in Marbella

Rubi’s men complete third consecutive double training session as intensity rises ahead of first friendlies

UD Almería’s pre-season preparations have entered a new gear in Marbella, with physical demands intensifying and explosiveness now the key focus. Thursday marked the third straight day of double training sessions at Westin La Quinta, pushing the squad further as the countdown to their first friendlies begins.

With 11 days of work already logged, the Rojiblancos are shifting from building endurance to sharpening their sprinting ability and reaction speed. Under the watchful eye of head coach Rubi, players were put through a series of circuits and finishing drills designed to ignite the spark needed for match intensity. GPS trackers are lighting up while sore throats are becoming the norm as players push their limits.

The atmosphere around camp remains intense but purposeful, with constant individual and group discussions aimed at reinforcing tactical principles and ensuring every detail is covered.

Whereas Thursday marked the peak of the week's physical workload, the pace shows no signs of slowing, with 2 friendly matches set for the weekend, a first real test of how theory translates into action.
