UD Almería land European talent as André Horta joins on loan from Braga

The experienced Lusitanian playmaker becomes the 8th summer signing with an option-to-buy clause

UD Almería have bolstered their midfield with the loan signing of André Horta from SC Braga. The 28-year-old attacking midfielder arrives with a wealth of European experience and becomes the Club’s 8th addition ahead of the 2025/26 season. His deal includes an option-to-buy clause.

Known for his game awareness, pace and technical quality, Horta brings top-level pedigree to the Rojiblancos, having featured in the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League across recent seasons. The Portuguese international spent the last couple of years alternating between SC Braga and Greek giants Olympiakos FC, clocking up 45 appearances in all competitions throughout the 2023/24 campaign.

Born in Almada, Portugal, Horta developed through the youth ranks at SL Benfica and Vitória Setúbal before moving on to SC Braga. He also spent a stint in Major League Soccer with Los Angeles FC. Last season, he featured in 12 Primeira Liga games, 2 Portuguese Cup ties, and 16 European matches across all three major UEFA competitions.

His arrival adds further depth and international experience to Rubi’s squad, following the signings of Andrés Fernández, Nélson Monte, Chirino, Álex Muñoz, Marcos Luna, Dzodic and Soko.
