Almería Women to visit third-placed Cáceres Atlético Women
The Rojiblancas will face in-form opponents who have won their last four matches
The UD Almería women's team are to face a tough clash in group IV within third-tier Primera Nacional, in which they will visit CF Cáceres Atlético Women. The next opponents from the region of Extremadura have won the last 4 games and occupy the third position in the table. The Rojiblancas, who have played one game less than their next adversaries, will fight with morale boosted by the victory over Castuera and the points taken against Real Betis and Badajoz, which have enabled them to climb to seventh place.
The Almeria players will begin matchday 7 at 4:00 p.m. CET on Saturday. However, the girls will be travelling to Cáceres on Friday afternoon, since it is necessary to stay overnight in order to get to the meeting in the best possible shape avoiding jumping onto the pitch right after such a long-distance journey by coach.
After three back-to-back weeks finding the net, Almería Women face the next league match with the firm intention of continuing to display the gradual improvement that the squad have been experiencing since the 2020/21 season kicked off. This was stated by Irene Mateos, who also acknowledged that ‘they will surely be very tough opponents.’
The Cáceres Atlético Women, the second team from the senior side who compete in Reto Iberdrola, have made a great start to the championship that has allowed them to reach the third position, only 3 points behind the leaders and considering that one of their fixtures has been postponed. As aforementioned, Cáceres managed to beat their last four rivals: Santa Teresa B (2-1); Castuera (2-3), Cádiz (1-0) and Híspalis (1-4) and therefore, the Rojiblancas have the took up the exciting challenge of clinching a victory against an in-form team in order to continue climbing up positions within the table.
