Almería Women to extend unbeaten run against table-toppers

The Rojiblancas face Real Betis ‘B’ this Saturday (6:00 p.m. CET). Almeria have climbed into eighth

The UD Almería women's team, with the firm intention of continuing to extend their good run of results, are to host this Saturday Real Betis Women ‘B’. The next adversaries are the top of table for the time being. The match will be played behind closed doors at the Constantino Cortés ground on Saturday (kick-off 6 p.m. CET).

The Rojiblancas have moved up into eighth on the back of five consecutive matches collecting points, three draws and two victories. The numbers speak for themselves as the girls have bagged 8 out of 9 points ever since Agustín Sánchez started to be in the driving seat 4 match weeks ago. However, it is worth highlighting that the Indálicas have played one more game than Sporting de Huelva and three more than Málaga ‘B’.

The Almeria Women coach spoke to the club’s official radio station, UDA Radio, in last Wednesday’s programme and pointed out the importance of ‘continuing to achieve good results and working as the girls are doing in training.’ In addition, he mentioned: ‘We’ll try to face this week's game, which is nice to play, being wary of the difficulty and aiming to get all three points.’

UD Almería Women proved that nothing is impossible. The girls found the back of the Verdiblancas ‘B’ team’s net to take a share of the points in the first half of the competition (1-1). Strangely enough, Agustín Sánchez was the man in as charge of the side as a coach caretaker during that meeting.

The Almerienses will be welcoming the Sevillanas to the Constantino Cortés ground this Saturday (6 p.m. CET). Since the measures adopted to stop the spread of Covid-19 within sports facilities are still active, the match will be played behind closed doors.
