Almería Women take a breather to gain momentum in the final stretch

The Rojiblancas have been given the weekend off with 4 fixtures to go and fair chances in the race for promotion to a higher tier

UD Almería Women will not have to compete this weekend since the Group IV fixture list of the Primera Nacional women’s division provided a break for all the member clubs. However, the Rojiblancas will not slack off during this break as they have fair chances to occupy one of the places to earn promotion to the new tier that the RFEF has created between Reto and Primera Nacional.

The Indálicas will have to be very aware of the result given in the postponed match that Cacereño Women 'B' have with San Miguel, as it will essential to be able to calculate the gap with respect to third place, which can result in promotion as one of the four top teams in Spain. The distance with the second place, which is equivalent to moving up through automatic promotion, is 5 points.

You never know until the conclusion of the season. It is true that battling it out for promotion was not the initial objective of the UD Almería gals, but the solid performances displayed by the players have allowed them to keep their dream alive and therefore, the Rojiblancas exercise the privilege of playing their last four matches with the fervent hope of achieving an ambitious goal.

Once this break is over, UD Almerian Women will have to pay a visit to ‘champions’ Málaga CF Women, who are already virtually assured of promotion and will compete in a higher league next season. Subsequently, the girls from Almeria will host Santa Teresa 'B' Women, then will go on a trip to the Extremadura Women's field and will close out this historic campaign at the Emilio Campra Youth Stadium against Polideportivo San Miguel.

With 4 Matchdays to go, CD Badajoz Women are runners-up on 45 points and today would be the team to go up a rank together with the players from Malaga. Third-placed CP Cacereño Women 'B' have collected as many points as UD Almeria Women (40). Sevilla FC Women 'B' with 37 points still have the opportunity to aim high. Anything can happen, so the optimistic Rojiblancas will be working up a sweat in every single training session left to make their dream come true.
