Almería Women ready to face final stretch with tough-looking Andalusian derby

The Rojiblancas, who still could earn promotion, visit the leaders and already-champions Malaga CF Women this Saturday (KO 5:30pm Spain Time)

The final stretch of Group IV in the Primera Nacional Women’s league is around the corner! The UD Almería Women's team are about to face a tough-looking game, the first of the last four battles remaining to conclude the championship while keeping their promotion hopes alive. The Indálicas are visiting pacesetters and already-promoted Málaga CF Women. This Andalusian derby will be played at 5:30pm this Saturday at Roma Luz, a Malaguista football pitch.

The girls from Almeria are 100% focused in their fight for promotion to a higher tier with an eye to make their dream come true. A charged atmosphere prevails during their training sessions and hard graft ahead of the derby against the side that have obtained the best results throughout the competition. In fact, the Blanquiazules have never been defeated this season and have only drawn two games, one of them against UD Almeria Women (2-2). Who knows what tomorrow will bring?

If the Indalicas want to make it to the top division, they must get as many points as possible while waiting to find out their direct rivals’ results. This is what the table looks at the moment: CD Badajoz Women (45 points) start with an advantage in this final stretch by sitting second, which means automatic promotion, while their neighbours CP Cacereño Women 'B' (43 points) would currently be the outfit with options to climb as one of the best third of all groups. The fourth position(40 points) has been attained by UD Almeria Women keeping their hopes alive in the remaining four battles against Málaga CF Women, Santa Teresa 'B', Extremadura Women CF and CP San Miguel Women.

Head coach Álvaro García Búrdalo will not announce the team roster until Saturday before the first of the four finals that the Rojiblancas have to face in the last month of this campaign kicks off.
