Almería Women go into 2021 with the prime aim of moving up spots in the table

The Rojiblancas host Cádiz CF Women on Saturday, at 6:00 p.m. CET, at Constantino Cortés football pitch

The Christmas holidays are now over for UD Almería Women. The Rojiblancas, who closed out 2020 with a comprehensive 0-3 victory over CD Híspalis, are pumped before their first commitment of 2021 with the firm intention of moving up positions in the table. Cádiz CF Women will be visiting the Constantino Cortés ground for the league match with kick-off time set for 6:00 p.m. (Spain Time) on Saturday, 9 January.

The players led by Álvaro García Búrdalo prepared for the weekend's meeting acutely aware that it will be the beginning of a positive streak that will allow the Indálicas to improve their performance this season. Almeria-born teamer Pilar Sánchez spoke to the club official media and stressed that: ‘We’re still not completely satisfied with our position in the table and that moment will come when all the hard work that we’re doing pays off.’

Cádiz CF Women are one of the teams leading the pack in the top-four within group IV of the Andalusian women’s league Primera Nacional, holding onto the fourth position in the tournament on 17 points. It will not be the first official game of 2021 for the Gaditanas, since the Andalusian ladies played a postponed game on 3 January (Matchday 8). Cadiz CF beat CD Híspalis 2-3, who were also last Almeria’s last adversaries.

The contest between the girls in red and white striped jeerseys and the ones in yellow is taking place at 6 p.m. CET on Saturday at the Constantino Cortés ground located at Los Molinos neighbourhood. The game will be played behind closed doors due to the measures that continue to be active so as to avoid Covid-19 infections in sports facilities. Nevertheless, the Almeria Women’s official Twitter account (@FemeninoUDA) will air live the ninety-minute match.
