Almeria vs Leganés called off because of adverse weather

Despite the Rojiblancos trained at the Anexo pitch, they will not travel to Madrid. Sunday off while waiting to learn league and cup fixtures

The Matchday-21 fixture that Almería were meant to play this Sunday in Leganés has been suspended and therefore, a new date will soon be announced by the RFEF competition committee following the request submitted by LaLiga after holding conversations with both clubs.

The weather adversities in the region of Madrid make it impossible both for Almería to travel and for the match itself to take place this Sunday. As aforementioned, a new date will have to be arranged in the coming days.

On another note, Almería have trained this Saturday at the Anexo training ground on a windy and chilly day. Initially, the team had planned to fly charter to Madrid in the afternoon. After the decision announced, the squad will have Sunday off and will be getting back to training on Monday, while waiting to find out when this game will be played in Leganés and also the Spanish Cup third-round tie against Deportivo Alavés.

On that note, there will be no league game the following weekend. There will be a cup tie though, so the game between Almeria and Alaves should take place either on Saturday, 16 January or Sunday, 17 January. If everything goes according to plan, the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium is to host the Spanish Women's Football Super Cup (Supercopa de España) next Saturday. Having said that, the third-round cup tie that Jose Gomes’ men have to play should take place next Sunday, 17 January, even though rivals Alavés have a LaLiga Santander fixture scheduled on Tuesday, 19 January.
