Almeria U19s ‘A’ remain undefeated after goalless stalemate draw with Malaga

Almeria U19s ‘B’ imposed their football style upon ‘Los Molinos’

The two UD Almería Under-19s sides managed to win points during the competition weekend. The ‘Division of Honor’ team took a point apiece (1-1) at Ciudad Deportiva de Los Angeles playing against Málaga CF. As for the lads competing in ‘Liga Nacional’ outplayed ‘Los Molinos’ becoming table-toppers. 

The team coached by Miguel Compán remain undefeated after sharing the spoils. On this occasion, the Rojiblancos hosted neighbours Malaga, who had won every game so far.

During the 90 minutes both teams battled it out by sharing possession and 50-50 balls, although Almeria dominated first 45 but failed to put chances away. Despite in the second half the two sides were level, there were moments in which the youngsters from Málaga got closer to the goal defended by Manu Obón, who was put to the test. Nonetheless, the great defensive display at hands of Almería resulted in not many attempts at goal before the final whistle. Almeria and Malaga played out a goalless stalemate draw (0-0).

Coach Miguel Compán picked a starting line-up formed by Manu Obón; Pedro, Rubén, Tomás, Paco Benítez, Sergi, Mario Mañas, Yepes, Adri, Álex Domingo and Josemi. Abel, Moha, Jorge Fernández, Cato and Mario Oyonarte also got minutes in the pitch.

Undefeated Almeria Under19-s ‘A’ are sitting fourth on 7 points within their league group, after winning once and sharing out points four times.

The weekend’s Academy victory was achieved by Almeria Under19-s ‘B’. In point of fact, Alberto Lasarte's boys beat ‘Los Molinos’, who were fierce at some point even though they had no choice but to witness the best version of Almería until the final score (1-4).

Juan Manuel Murcia opened the scoring with just six minutes on the clock. After the first goal (0-1), the home team played all out to find the back of the net defended by Francisco Morales and ended up finding it after 25 minutes. However, his joy would not last too long since Gabri made it 1-2 afterwards. Before the break, it was Soto who also put his name on the scoresheet (1-3).

The second half was developed with the Almeria youngsters ahead and without any hostile feeling that their victory could be at risk. It seemed that three goals were not enough so that Iván Méndez sealed the win in the final stretch (1-4).

Alberto Lasarte lined up Francisco Morales; Dani Fernández; Edu Plá, Gabri, Soto, David Montes, Adrián Segura, Juanma Murcia, Valen, Ángel Fernández and Álvaro García. Gustavo Galera, Joan, Iván Méndez, Aarón and Vicente Martínez also played.

Almeria Under-19s ‘B’, who have not been defeated yet, are leaders in the group on 7 points bagged in 2 wins and 1 draw. It should be highlighted that this team have one more match to be played following suspension of the meeting against ‘La Cañada’.
