Almeria U19s ‘A’ drop two points with 10 minutes to go

The youth team, after leading 1-0 at half-time, end up sharing out the points in an evenly-matched game against Tiro Pichón

UD Almeria Under-19s ‘A’ had to settle for a draw dropping two points in the last minutes of the game against Tiro Pichón. The Rojiblancos’ competitors visited the Ciudad Deportiva de Los Angeles ground in a rich vein of form demonstrating their good performance level in a game with two evenly-matched sides.

Given that the Almería ‘B’ team had no league fixture scheduled last weekend, the team competing in ‘Division de Honor’ were able to count on some contenders who are joining the Tercera Division team. In this sense, Miguel Compán picked a starting XI formed by Rocha; Pedro; Rubén, Tomás, Mario Mañas, Andrei, Moha, Josemi, Abel, Yepes and Sergi.

It was a lottery. It was anyone’s game. Goal scoring opportunities followed one another until Jorge, on the brink of half-time, scored to make it 1-0 to Tiro Pichon putting his team ahead.

During the second half, the UD Almería youngsters created chances to have extended their advantage on the scoreboard, although the players from Malaga had also their clear-cut opportunities. It was in the 80th minute when Antonio managed to find the equaliser (1-1).

Regarding the rest of the UD Almería Academy team, as mentioned above, the Almeria ‘B’ team were out of office following calendar reasons, while the Almeria Under-19s ‘B’ match was suspended due to Covid-19 in neighbourhood ‘La Cañada’. Nonetheless, Alberto Lasarte's teenagers played a friendly against the Roquetas senior team, which would end in a 1-4 defeat.

It is worth highlighting that Almeria U16s, U14s and U12s who are still waiting to find out when their respective competitions are to kick off, also played friendly matches, except for the Under-14s ‘A’ whose game was suspended. Thus, Almeria Under-16s ‘B’ hosted Aguadulce (0-0); Almeria Under-14s ‘B’ took on Los Molinos away (0-9); Almeria Under16s ‘A’ visited TAE (1-6) and last but not least, the youngest side Almeria Under12’s welcomed Los Molinos to their fold (9-3).
