Almería train hard to rediscover good vibes

Iván Balliu needs physio following rectus abdominis discomfort. Behind-closed-doors training sessions on Friday and Saturday

UD Almería continue with their preparations for Sunday’s fixture (kick-off 4:00 p.m. CEST/ televised live on free-to-air TV channel Gol). The Rojiblancos will be taking on CD Mirandés at the Anduva Stadium in Miranda de Ebro (Castilla y Leon), where they want to take another big step forward in their race for promotion to the top-tier Primera Division. As a result, the squad are training hard in order to get back to old selves and at the same time, rediscover their good vibes.

After two back-to-back defeats to Rayo Vallecano and Real Zaragoza, UD Almería held their own against the current chart-toppers Espanyol to earn one hard-fought point last Monday. It was the last time when Jose Gomes’ boys became more competitive and resilient.

The Indalicos are aware that they will face really competitive and difficult opponents to beat on Sunday, but they are working hard to go into this new league commitment in the best shape.

The squad trained at the Anexo Juegos Mediterraneos. Head coach José Gomes have the possibility to count on Corpas again as the right-winger has already served a one-game suspension. On a negative note, Iván Balliu is the only Almería teamer who has been sidelined and therefore will not play part in Sunday’s march. Last Monday, he had to be benched at the break in the match against Espanyol. The 29-year-old right-back suffers from rectus abdominis discomfort, although there is no rupture of the muscle according to the medical tests. At the moment, Balliu just needs physio and specific training to continue road to recovery.

The team will be training behind closed doors at the Juegos Mediterraneos on Friday and Saturday.
