Almeria to play first pre-season friendly against Betis on Wednesday

The game will be played at 7:30 p.m. in Marbella, and it will be televised on the club's YouTube channel. 24 players are travelling to the city located in Costa del Sol

Top-flight club Betis Balompié will be UD Almería's first opponents in the pre-season. Both teams are playing this Wednesday, 2nd September, at 7:30 p.m. CET, at Antonio Lorenzo Cuevas Stadium in Marbella. As aforementioned, it will be the first of the eight friendlies that the Rojiblancos have scheduled during their pre-season get-together that will kick off in Marbella this Tuesday.

The clash is going to be televised live, and therefore fans will have the possibility to tune in at 7,15 p.m. CET on our UD Almería YouTube channel. The pre-season game can also be followed on UDA Radio, the club's official radio station through the UD Almeria’s official website.

The pre-season fixture schedule has been practically confirmed, although this information cannot be made official until the relevant contracts are signed once the health authorities give the go-ahead allowing the teams to play those friendly games due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It will be a complicated and interesting test to start with given this pre-season’s requirements considering that there are only around twenty days to go until the Rojiblancos kick off the new 2020/21 season in Lugo (Galicia).

The UD Almeria players have already got together in Marbella and their pre-season will take place until 16th September. In this period of time, the squad will not only participate in training sessions but will also play unofficial games against opponents from Primera, Segunda and Segunda B, the top-flight, the second tier and third tier in the Spanish football league system. UD Almeria set off on Monday morning for Marbella, yet it will not be until 7 p.m. when the coaching staff conducts the team’s first training session in Costa del Sol aiming to gear up for the forthcoming season.

On the other hand, it is worth highlighting that there are 24 players who headed to Marbella for the club’s pre-season. While 17 footballers belong to the UD Almeria first-team (Fernando, Romera, Balliu, Maras, Peybernes, Jonathan, Iván Martos, Aguza, Chema, De la Hoz, Petrovic, Lazo, Appiah, Ramazzani, Corpas, Fran Villalba and last but not least Darwin Núnez), there are 7 players from UD Almeria B (Lluís, Fermín, Callejón, Javi Robles, Jean Marco, Dani Albiar and Rubén Enri).
