Almería sign the Portuguese leading forward Pedro Mendes

He arrives on loan with an option to buy from Sporting de Lisboa. He is 21 years old and 1.87 metres tall

The Portuguese Pedro Mendes becomes a new Almería signing for next 2020/21 season. He is a highly-rated centre-forward. Despite being 1.87 metres tall (6 ft 1in), the Guimarães-born striker will surely lead the team’s attack this season, along with No. 9 Juan Villar. The Huelva-born player is actually more versatile as he can operate as right-winger, left-winger and centre-forward.

Pedro Manuel Lobo Peixoto Mineiro Mendes was born on 1st August, 1999 in the Portuguese town of Guimaraes. The 21-year-old has signed on loan from Sporting de Lisboa, although at the end of the season Almería will have an option to buy the skilled centre-forward.

Pedro Mendes is Portugal Under-21s international and he was also promoted to the Sporting de Lisboa first-team last season, playing six games in the top-flight of Portuguese football and as many in the Europa League. Pedro Mendes is a ‘fox in the box’, a confident footballer upfront. In spite of his height, he is fast and performs outstandingly in attack, highlighting his aerial game.
