Almería round off their first week of training with another non-contact morning session

The Rojiblancos resume preparations at Juegos Mediterraneos and Anexo on Monday, at 9.30 a.m

Almería rounded off their first week of training after football shutdown two months ago due to the coronavirus pandemic. In an effort to reduce the upheaval, the players were provided with home tailored workout programmes. It was not until last Saturday when the squad returned to exercise in their usual base, the Anexo training ground and the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium.

The week has been hectic with heaps of intense and progressive fitness exercises, as part of a carefully constructed training and fitness programme to stay in peak condition. As the days passed, the workload was being gradually increased. All of the players continue non-contact work as training sessions are individual. Players are arriving at training camps in their kit and on their own, with their arrival staggered under strict health and safety measures.

The Rojiblancos will be resuming preparations on Monday, at 9.30 a.m. They will also be working in the afternoon from 6 p.m., sharing the Anexo and the Juegos Mediterraneos once more. In theory, the footballers will stick to individual training, although LaLiga is awaiting authorisation to move onto the next phase, in which group training will be allowed.

The UD Almeria squad is now complete, and it was boosted with four homegrown players. The keeper Jero, the midfielder Callejón and also the strikers Dani Albiar and Rubén Enri are joining the main squad.
