Almería return to high-intensity training with sights set on Real Zaragoza

The Rojiblancos resume training to prepare for Sunday's fixture. Behind closed doors practice on Thursday and Saturday

Almería have returned to training after having Tuesday off with their sights set on next adversaries Real Zaragoza and with a really high-intensity training session. In addition, the players, coaching team and Club staff underwent antibody tests as indicated by LaLiga protocol.

The squad started the activity on the artificial grass of the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium, where they carried out injury prevention exercises, which were previously held on the indoor warm-up track, but now they have been performed outdoors as a precaution following LaLiga’s advise.

Subsequently, demanding circuit workouts have taken place on the lawn, rondos and games on reduce-sized pitches with the team split into four different groups who have practised tactical drills and skill moves and also have recreated game situations.

Akieme, who was sore after taking part in so many games, has received physio; the left-back is due to join his team-mates on Thursday. The rest of the squad members have trained although head coach José Gomes will not be able to count on suspended Ivanildo and Manu Morlanes.

Before travelling to Zaragoza, UD Almería will be training behind closed doors at the ‘Mediterraneo’ this Thursday and Saturday,, while training is taking place at the Anexo on Friday.
