Almería resume training at their training base

The Rojiblancos begin to prepare themselves ahead of Wednesday’s match. They play Sporting de Gijón who are climbing to higher positions.

Almeria arrived late on Sunday night from Miranda de Ebro and resumed training on Monday so as to prepare for Wednesday’s game, at 7:30 p.m. This time around, the squad will face Sporting de Gijón at the Juegos Mediterraneos stadium corresponding to matchday 37 of the SmartBank League.

The Rojiblancos host opponents who are climbing positions in the second-tier competition. In fact, the team are closing in on the play-off spots. They have not lost any away game since the championship resumed after coronavirus. The Northerns tied in La Coruña and Vallecas, and defeated Alcorcón. Sporting lost 0-1 against Oviedo and they beat Lugo 2-0 on their last matchday.

Almería suffered two bitter defeats in their previous two home games against Las Palmas and Alcorcón, but they hope it will be the third time lucky... and also hope to secure promotion to the top flight. With this goal in mind, the squad set to work with one more active recovery session for those who played the most minutes in Anduva, while the rest of the footballers exercised more intensively. Kaptoum, the only one who is injured, continues to speed up his recovery and is already training on the pitch.

This Tuesday, new training session at the Anexo and in the afternoon the squad are getting together, although there will be one last practice on Wednesday, the same day to take place the game.
