Almería remain optimistic and fire their hopes of promotion to the top flight and what this may hold after the important and hard-fought victory against Sporting de Gijón, what means that the Rojiblancos are on the road to automatic promotion to the First Division. In any case, there are still five matchdays in which anything can happen, as in fact has happened in the six fixtures that have been played to date.

For the time being, the Rojiblancos are largely focused on the forthcoming match. The clash is taking place against CD Tenerife on Saturday at Juegos Mediterráneos, corresponding to matchday 38 of the SmartBank League. The squad have been exercising at the Anexo, where the players are training again this Friday, also in the morning session. Kaptoum has trained on the sidelines and David Costas, trying to relive muscle discomfort from injury, has received physical therapy treatment.

After playing on Saturday against Tenerife, the second consecutive game at home, Almería will have more time to prepare for another ‘final’ versus Girona, set for 9th July at 9:45 p.m. Then, on Monday, 13th July, also the footballers are hosting Rayo Vallecano. Afterwards, there will take place the last two match rounds on the same day and at the same time. One of them against Ponferradina and the last one against Málaga CF.
