Almeria ready to hold their own against Mallorca
After the first league defeat of 2021, The Rojiblancos are bound and determined to hold their own against the leaders
Almería left the Leganés game behind and are now getting down to business preparing for the next fixture in Mallorca, where they will play against the current leaders on Sunday (kick-off 4:00 p.m. CET). The Rojiblancos could have defended the leadership, had they won at Butarque, or the automatic promotion second spot, had they shared the points...unexpectedly, everything went downhill in injury time and therefore, Almería will walk out on the Estadi de Son Moix pitch, as the third-placed side to take on the table-toppers who are 2 points away in the table and have a home-field advantage.
The Rojiblancos are now putting a keen focus on this new league appointment, the third within a hectic week. After Thursday's post-game recovery, the footballers will start working on tactical drills. Almería will take to the Anexo pitch this Friday (10.15 a.m.) for a training session, while on Saturday, before flying out to Palma de Mallorca, the practice will be held behind closed doors at the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium.
Jose Gomes will have Samú available for selection, although he could not count on Petrovic and Ramazani because of the yellow cards awarded last Wednesday. Jorge Cuenca is back to training on grass but it is not yet known whether or not the centre-back will be up for grabs.
