Almería narrow the gap on runners-up Real Zaragoza to 3 points and leaders Cádiz to 2 points
The Rojiblancos consolidate fourth place two points away from the automatic promotion spot to the First Division
The first matchday of the League after the competition resumed was unquestionably very important for UD Almería, and not only for the victory achieved in Albacete, but also for the results of their direct rivals.
Match week 32 started off with an opening game in which Huesca defeated Malaga, snatching the third place in the table from the Rojiblancos. However, things turned around for the Almeria’s benefit as Real Zaragoza lost and Cádiz had to settle for a draw. As a result, Almería narrow the gap on second-placed Real Zaragoza to three points and leaders Cadiz to 2 points.
In this way, the Rojiblancos, who recovered the third position winning in Albacete, are sitting just two points behind Zaragoza and four points behind Cádiz. Nonetheless, they are still level on points with Huesca.
UD Almeria have also managed to increase their advantage by two points with respect to fifth-placed Girona (5 points adrift); and with Elche, who are sitting sixth, to six points. Both teams tied in their respective league matches.
