Almería flew back home after cup tie and now focus squarely on top-of-table clash

The Rojiblancos exercise this Thursday (12 p.m. CET) on the Anexo to prepare crucial Sunday’s league match vs Espanyol. It will be the last fixture in 2020

Almería flew charter back home from Hospitalet de Llobregat after playing the Spanish Cup tie and the squad are getting back into training on Thursday at midday on the Anexo pitch to focus squarely on Sunday’s official match against Espanyol de Barcelona at the RCDE Stadium.

It will be the last fixture of 2020 against direct rivals in the race for promotion to the top flight. It is undeniably a top-of-table clash considering that runners-up and third-placed competing to earn bragging rights with Almeria sitting within a point from the Catalans. 

The Rojiblancos will be training this Thursday and Friday at the club’s training base, the Anexo while on Saturday, the footballers will be gearing up behind closed doors for Sunday’s fixture before flying back to the same destination as Wednesday’s flight, Barcelona. There are three training sessions scheduled prior to taking on in-form Espanyol.
