Almería consolidate third place in the standings

The Rojiblancos have a three-point lead over Leganés, 5 points ahead of Sporting and Girona, and reduced gap on Mallorca by 2 points

With the Segunda Division reaching their final stages, UD Almería consolidate their third place in LaLiga SmartBank standings after Matchday 38. As a matter of fact, the Rojiblancos (66) extended to three points their advantage over the fourth in the table, CD Leganés (63), who shared the spoils with Rayo Vallecano this Monday. The UD Almeria first-team are five points over Sporting de Gijón (61) and Girona FC (61), who won their respective games last weekend.

Meanwhile, the Indalicos have reduced the gap on RCD Mallorca by two points (72). The islanders are sitting second six points ahead of UD Almería. Play-off chasers Rayo Vallecano are eight points behind (58).

While UD Almeria host Albacete Balompie on Matchday 39, there will also be a pulsating match between promotion-hunting clubs Girona FC and Sporting de Gijón.
