Almería climb up 9 positions in the table in less than 72 hours
The team won in Sabadell last Thursday moving up from 14th to 9th. After winning in Vallecas, they reached 5th place. They bagged 14 out of 18 points at stake
‘Ain’t no mountain high enough’. The week that UD Almería have just completed has been truly spectacular and confirms their unbeaten run, thanks to their dazzling performance and positive results obtained. Good proof of this is that since their defeat in Las Palmas last month, the team have bagged 14 of the 18 points at stake.
Above all, the fact that in less than 72 hours Jose Gomes’ men have gone all out to climb up 9 places in the table stands out. After the draw with Girona at home seven days ago, Almería were 14th on 11 points. Last Thursday, they recovered one of the games that was postponed and won in Sabadell, taking a huge step forward by moving to 9th position on 14 points; a jump of 5 places in one go.
After grabbing all three points in Vallecas, where Rayo Vallecano had won every game on home turf so far, José Gomes' team rose up to 5th place reaching promotion play-offs on 17 points ... and the Rojiblancos still have matchday 2 getting underway.
Next Saturday, Almeria will be hosting Mirandés at Juegos Mediterráneos.
