Almeria-born Sara Mollinedo joins UD Almería Women
The 23-year-old defender comes from UD Pavia and becomes a new signing for the 2020/21 season
Sara Mollinedo, a 23-year-old defender who was born in Almería, signed for UD Almería Women after a few days on trial. The player, who has been playing football since she was a child, confesses that this is a great project that she faces with great enthusiasm and therefore she assumes full responsibility and personal sacrifice. ‘This sport means a lot to me. It helps me to keep in shape, to meet new people and socialise. Thanks to it, I’ve been able to live unforgettable experiences, as well as cherish life lessons and values such as companionship, teamwork, respect and so on’, she explained.
Sara, who comes from UD Pavia, began to play with friends from her neighbourhood when she was a child until her parents enrolled her in a team in which she played with boys. Back then, it was not common the existence of women football teams and much less in children's leagues.
