Almeria ‘B’ to make up for last Wednesday's defeat

The homegrown players host Huétor Vega on Sunday at midday in their last fixture of 2020

The UD Almería ‘B’ team host Huétor Vega next Sunday at 12:00 noon with the firm intention of making up for the defeat suffered last Wednesday in the clash against Huétor Tájar in which the Academy players had no choice but to said bye to the second place and the option of being one point from leading the pack at the top.

Although it depends on what happens with other side’s results, beyond beating the next opponents, the Academy products once more face an official game within group IX ‘A’ competing in Tercera Division with the opportunity to get closer to the top of the table and, in this way, to be able to close out the year 2020 keeping pace with the fourth-tier competition in terms of points to enter the next stage, the play-off for promotion to Second Division ‘B’.

Fernando Santos will not decide the final squad list as per usual until moments before delivering the team pass cards to the match official, since the second team coach is waiting to find out which footballers usually joining first-team’s training are for selection. 

With regard to CD Huétor Vega, they sit sixth and are three points behind the Rojiblancos youngsters. Therefore, a victory for Almeria would also allow them to take advantage of another of the teams deeply involved in the race for the three top positions that give access to the next round of the season.
