Almería B out of action this weekend according to competition calendar

The homegrown players return to training next Tuesday before playing Huétor Tájar

The second-team UD Almería squad will not have to face any league fixture this weekend, since they belong to a subgroup of odd numbers and therefore the team will have to stick to the schedule. As a consequence, Fernando Santos, ‘Nandinho’, has given the players some days off work until next Tuesday. The players will have recharged their batteries before preparing themselves on the third day of the week for their upcoming visit to the Huétor Tájar pitch.

On another note, some of the youngsters whose daily routine involves joining the side competing in the fourth-tier Tercera Division will play on the matchday. In this sense, contenders such as Rocha, Andrei, Moha, Mario Mañas and Abel, who have already joined the Almería B squad, can take part in the commitment that Almeria Under-19s ‘A’ will face against Tiro Pichon, as long as they fit into coach Miguel Compán’s plans.

With regard to the Almeria ‘B’ team squad, the calendar of group IX ‘A’ within Tercera Division has the peculiarity that the homegrown players will not take to the Anexo training ground next to the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium in a month after having played there on the opening day. The reason lies in the fact that they played two games in a row as visitors —Maracena and Poli Almería— while this weekend is time to have a break and the next one will again be an away game against Huétor Tájar.

The UD Almería Academy senior team, on the other hand, are the only club in their subgroup that have been able to play all the matches scheduled by not being affected by Covid-19 in the dressing room itself or in that of the opponents. Thus, the Rojiblancos are sitting third in the standings on 4 points.
