The 20-year-old footballer moves from Atlético de Madrid U19 ‘A’ after his loan spell at Canadian Atletico Ottawa
UD Almería ‘B’ complete squad in the January transfer window with the signing of Núñez, a versatile winger who can also play as a second striker and in midfield. The player moves from the Atlético de Madrid Academy, which had loaned him to Canada-based Atletico Ottawa. After the agreement reached with his parent club, the footballer signs a deal until the end of the 2022/23 season.
Rafael Leonardo Núñez Mata was born on 25th January, 2002 – he is 20 years old – in the Dominican Republic city of Bonao. Football-wise, he rose through the Rayo Vallecano youth ranks before he was signed by Atlético de Madrid U19 ‘B’, with whom he completed his developmental stage before departing on loan to Canada-based Atlético Ottawa in the 2021/22 campaign. In addition, he has sometimes been called up to Spain U16 and U17 and also the Dominican Republic squad, his home country team, since he has dual nationality.
Núñez completes the current Almería ‘B’ squad after signing a deal until the end of the 2022/23 season. UD Almeria ‘B’ team welcomes a pacey footballer who can occupy several positions on the pitch with high quality on the ball, which makes him a perfect complement to the UDA Academy youth team.
