Almeria ‘B’ attend last training session of 2020/21 season

The Academy players trained on the Vega de Acá pitch before competing in Tercera División RFEF next season

The UD Almería ‘B’ team attended their last training session of the 2020/21 season on the Vega de Acá field on Tuesday morning. The young Rojiblancos performed recovery exercises after last Sunday’s feisty affair against Antequera CF, where extra time prevented the Academy products from progressing to the final for promotion to the Segunda Division RFEF.

The 2020/21 campaign came to an end after the Indalicos finished the first phase as runners-up, they could not reach their goal in the second part and later on, the boys had to say goodbye to the play-offs final. Unluckily, Almeria ‘B’ got knocked out in the semi-finals.

Almeria ‘B’ coordinator Agustín Sánchez had a conversation with UDA Radio and acknowledged ‘there’s no other option but to keep going,’ turning his attention to the desire of closing out the campaign with the happiness that the first team make it to LaLiga Santander. Once this situation is over, as he pointed out, it will be time to ‘think about next year's planning’ within the Academy.

UD Almería ‘B’ will go into the 2021/22 season with the aim of establishing the prime group's objectives while competing in Tercera Division RFEF, which becomes the fifth league level of Spanish football. At present, it is still to be confirmed whether the league will be based on a single group or divided into subgroups instead as it has happened during the coronavirus pandemic.
