Almería are still training while waiting

The Rojiblancos exercise this weekend in morning training sessions

Almería continue to train under the instructions of their new coach, the Portuguese José Gomes, and at the same time waiting for the decision on the play-offs. The first-team squad played their last competition match more than ten days ago.

As time winds down, there is growing uncertainty, but the players are hoping to enter the play-off for promotion to Primera considering they have performed up to standard. The footballers have no time to rest this weekend and they will be exercising in morning training sessions at Juegos Mediterraneos. The fact that there is no competition, nor a specific restart date, means that the new head coach can give each and every player a fair amount of time on the pitch implementing his football philosophy. Moreover, the team will pull their socks up and work on competitiveness.

The preparations are long and very complete. He has already stated in his presentation that the objective now is working hard to win, but since the play-off has been delayed, he can also introduce new concepts and enhance others based on what he has seen so far (all the games) and what he is checking in situ.
