Almeria Academy close out campaign on a positive note

Three youth sides lift trophies and move up ranks. All Academy teams will play next season in the highest football category they can compete

The UD Almería Academy closed out the 2020/21 campaign on a positive note as most of their objectives have been met. Although it is true that Almeria U12 have a couple of games in hand -one of them postponed due to Covid-19-, it is obvious that it has definitely been a brilliant year for the Rojiblancos youth ranks.

The UD Almeria Academy next generation teams have added three trophies to their track record, since the two Almeria U14 sides and Almeria U12 have lifted the title of their respective football categories, which this campaign awards them with promotion. As a result, Almeria U14 ‘A’ will compete next 2021/22 season in the new Division de Honor, Almeria U14 ‘B’ will take a spot in Primera Division Andaluza, while the youngest squad will also reach Division de Honor Alevin league (U12), which has just been created.

The fact that these three sides have managed to win promotion means that all of the UD Almeria youth teams will compete next 2021/22 season in the highest football category of their age groups and therefore, the Rojiblancos will once again become role models across the province of Almeria who will follow the well-trodden pathway to professional football.

Almeria U19 ‘A’ will become contenders in the prestigious Division de Honor Juvenil, which each year divides the best U19 outfits in Spain into groups. Moreover, after occupying the top places in the table throughout the past season, Almeria U19 ‘B’ are now  preparing for their future in Liga Nacional; Almeria U16 ‘A’ will play in Division de Honor Cadete (highest category at U16 level), while Almeria U16 ‘B’ will do so in Primera Division Andaluza.
