Almeria Academy & Almeria Women adapt to the new Covid-19 regulations

Training times for all squads will be rescheduled. Almeria U16s, U14s and U12s competitions have been postponed

UD Almería have already started the process of adapting the Academy and women's teams to comply with the new Junta de Andalucía regulations with a view to preventing the spread of Covid-19. Thus, the red and white club will reschedule all the training times following the indications of the Andalusian Football Federation (RFAF).

In relation to the preparations, those in charge of the Academy are planning football practices with the aim of enabling the Under-14s and Under-12s groups exercise earlier, since those under-16s cannot do so after 6:00 p.m. (Spain Time) according to new restrictions announced by regional president Juanma Moreno.

The situation is kind of similar for the three Almeria Women sides. Despite the fact that the team competing in Primera Nacional and UD Almería Women 'B' are part of the senior category, some of the training sessions used to end after 10.00 p.m. (Spain Time), so the new curfew will force them to turn those training times back. Likewise, the Under16-s/Under-14s side will have a new schedule by which they will not exceed 6:00 p.m. (Spain Time) as a consequence of having in the squad players under 16 years of age.

Regarding the competitions, the Andalusian Football Federation (RFAF) has confirmed that the Rojiblancos squads within fourth-tier men’s Tercera Division, Division of Honor U19s, Liga Nacional U19s, Primera Nacional Women, and Segunda Andaluza Women can continue. Nevertheless, the boys from Under-16s to Under-12s, as well as the girls from the Under16-s/Under-14s team will not have official fixtures scheduled until at least the weekend corresponding to 29 November.

It is worth highlighting that the Almeria ‘B’ team are waiting to find out whether they will be able to play their next encounter in group IX ‘A’ within Tercera Division against Huétor Tájar or not. The Granada-based football club confirmed that some players have tested positive for Covid-19 last week.
