More than 300 UD Almería fans set for Sporting Gijón trip

The Club and the Supporters’ Federation have arranged 3 coaches for the majority of travelling supporters, with others making their own way to Gijón

More than 300 UD Almería supporters will be at El Molinón-Enrique Castro Quini Stadium on Sunday to back the Rojiblancos in the match against Real Sporting de Gijón, kicking off at 6:30pm on Matchday 41, which will be penultimate fixture of the regular season.

As happened for the previous away trip to Burgos, the Club is once again supporting its fans’ travel plans. In collaboration with the Supporters’ Federation, and covering a large part of the transport costs, 3 coaches will travel to Gijón carrying the majority of the Rojiblanco faithful.

The remaining supporters will travel independently, not only from Almería but also from other parts of Spain.

Despite El Molinón  stadium being one of the furthest away destinations for UD Almería fans and with the game scheduled for Sunday evening ahead of a working Monday, the number making the journey to Asturias is significant.

The importance of the match to UD Almería’s ambitions explains the turnout. If the Rojiblancos grab all 3 points and Deportivo de La Coruña fail to win in Valladolid, then promotion to the top flight will go down to the final day.

Even if the Dépor claim victory, the fixture remains hugely important for UD Almería, who are aiming to secure 3rd place in the standings and strengthen their position heading into the promotion play-offs.
