UD Almería continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign with the signing of Álex Sola, who becomes the 6th addition of the summer transfer window following the arrivals of Brian Cipenga, Miguel de la Fuente, Jorge Pulido, Quim Junyent and Léo Baptistão.

The 27-year-old winger joins the Rojiblancos after completing his spell at Granada CF, signing a 4-year contract that will keep him at the club until June 2030.

A dynamic and hard-working wide player, Sola is capable of operating on either flank and can also play as a wing-back thanks to his athleticism and tireless work rate. His greatest strengths lie in his ability to provide attacking width, exploit space, reach the byline and deliver dangerous crosses into the box. Renowned for his pace, intensity and commitment off the ball, the new singing also makes a valuable contribution defensively and is well suited to a variety of tactical systems.

His arrival gives UD Almería greater competition in the wide areas while offering tactical flexibility, whether in a possession-based approach or a more direct, vertical style of play. His versatility and extensive professional experience make him a valuable addition to the squad.

A product of Real Sociedad’s Academy, Sola progressed through the club’s youth ranks before making his first-team debut after impressing with Sanse. Loan spells at Numancia and Deportivo Alavés followed before he joined Getafe CF on a permanent basis. He then continued his career with Granada CF prior to making the move to UD Almería.

Now 27, Sola arrives at an important stage of his footballing career, combining maturity with significant experience at the highest level. He has made 229 professional appearances and has featured in LaLiga with Real Sociedad, including European competition, Deportivo Alavés and Getafe CF.
