The successful UDA Academy head coach will continue to lead the recently-promoted 'B' team until June 2026 after renewing for two more seasons
UD Almería Academy head coach Alberto Lasarte renews his deal for two more seasons following the agreement reached once his contract ended last June 2024. Lasarte has completed six seasons in different stages within the Club's youth ranks. This campaign, his first at the helm of the UD Almería'B' team, he achieved a difficult promotion to place the the youth side in the Segunda RFEF.
Lasarte's coaching career began in the Liga Nacional U19 'B' side that were crowned champions the first season he was in the driving seat and the following one, they lifted the title, once again leaving the team in the top spot. Many of the players who currently shine in the 'B' team started with him in that successful stage. He even eventually joined UD Almería U16 to secure league safety in his group. Subsequently, the Jaen-born head coach became the man in charge of the División de Honor U19 'A' team, who made it to the Spanish Cup U19 final against Real Madrid CF U19 after the race for the league title until the end. His latest success, without a doubt, has been the promotion to Segunda RFEF earned by UD Almería 'B'.
The 43-year-old head coach has been characterised mainly by being a one-club man and even in the 2022/23 season he was in charge of the UD Almería first team on interim basis for some games.
This contract renewal only goes to prove the confidence in his work and ensures continuity coaching a generation of young footballers with a bright present and future ahead of them.
