Alberto Lasarte: 'It's a shame that one of the two teams is going to be left without promotion'

Both UD Almería 'B' head coach Alberto Lasarte and CD Toledo head coach Rubén Gala used the same words in the post-match press conference: 'Today we saw a game that is not from Tercera RFEF'

UD Almería 'B' head coach Alberto Lasarte shared his post-game thoughts at the press conference after the match against CD Toledo. He valued the encounter, the result and nothing more. To start, he regretted the 'early opener conceded' since, as he later added: ' I told my players to be attacking-wise in the first play and for the first ten minutes, we were going all out and it annoys me because they cross in and we let them.'

Next, Mr Lasarte explained: 'In general, we've been hasty throughout the game, although in the second half, we had 20 minutes in which we put them on the ropes. Having control we have sometimes over-exerted ourselves and on two counter-attacks, they almost scored a goal. I reckon that has taken its toll on us.'

Regarding the feelings about the match, the gaffer assured that they were 'bittersweet, as a coach I wanted to get the best result.' Although he stated: 'There is no other option than to boost our morale and be one hundred percent. We don't have to collapse.'

'They're a very powerful team and it'll be very sad if one of us is left without promotion after the work we have done,' he added.

What is obvious is that the UDA Academy prospects are facing a very tough and very confident rivals. 'For me, the whole script changes with the first goal, they shoot skilfully. At nil-nil, it would've been a CD Toledo that would've looked more for the opponents' goal, but those opening minutes have knocked us out, they're an attacking team, quite complete and today should be a wake-up call for next week.,'

To conclude his press conference, the Jaen-borm coach assessed what the second leg in Toledo will be like and commented the following: 'I expect a very nice match at the Salto del Caballo, whoever manages to take advantage of their good spell of possession will win. There will be options for both of us and whoever takes advantage of it will be promoted.'
